A few minutes (by car) out of Lixouri to the south lies Xi beach, most well known for its unusually coloured reddish sand. It is a pleasant enough beach, and the swimming is fine, but its long straight lines are a little uninspiring to the eye, and it lacks the intimacy of some of the smaller beaches on the island.

There is, however, a choice of tavernas, including one which is accessible from the main beach only by boat — which the owner is happy to oblige — and this reputedly serves excellent fish.
