Though about as far from Argostoli as
its possible to get on Kefalonia, many people rightly regard
Poros as one of the hidden gems of the island. Unlike its
nearest neighbour, Skala, Poros is built around a harbour,
and, by virtue of daily sailings to the Peleponnese, retains
a place in the economic life of the island.
And
with the benefit of a (rather disappointing) beach within
easy walking distance, and a good selection of authentic eateries,
its easy to see the town satisfying the needs of most holidaymakers
without the need for car hire.
But
if its your first trip to the island and you want to take
in all the sights, you might want to be a little closer to
the rest of the action. |
