Much favoured by the locals, Minies beach nestles right at the end of the airport runway, at the end where normally the planes take off.

It is, as usual for the west of the island, a sandy beach with good swimming, but there are no facilities immediately at hand, and you either need an encyclopaedic knowledge of the plane timetable, or a stomach for aviation fumes, to say nothing of strong nerves!
