Spilling
down from the ArgostoliPoros road to the sea, Lourdata,
or Lourdas has long been on the English tour companies books,
and many people love the combination of beach, good tavernas
and relative tranquility, even if the geography of the place
makes for a lot of walking up and down the relatively steep
roads.
Others,
though, consider the long beach a little unattractive
while you can't argue with the view which takes in Zakynthos
and the southern Livatho, when the wind gets up to any degree
it does feel more like a surfers beach than a haven for family
bathing and the relative distance from anywhere (Argostoli
25 minutes by car?) is another factor to consider.
If
you do end up there, try the Muses Bar half way up the hill
(evenings only) a perfect place to take your evening
cocktails and watch the sun go down, run by the charming Nadia
and her staff.
