Lying
beneath the Argostoli - Poros road, Lourdata, also known as
Lourdas, enjoys a long sandy beach which has inspired the
development of the village into a small tourist resort.
The
beach itself can be quite spectacular - it enjoys a great
view of Zakynthos, and when the wind is onshore the breakers
can look like a surfing beach. By the same token, however,
fun though the sea can be, on a windy day it may not be ideal
for young children.
There
are several tavernas immediately behind the beach, and more
still up the hill in Lourdata, so you are spoilt for choice.
