Cocktails
are an entirely foreign concept to Greece, so there are very
few ethnic varieties to be found. However, as the world over,
they do present the opportunity to charge the average tourist
an arm and a leg for a drink, so lots of places keenly advertise
their 'Cocktail List'.
Very
often, however, the one you want isn't on the (limited) list
- but most places will be happy to follow you're instructions
- if you can remember the recipe! Indeed Platanas, in the
corner of Argostoli square, even has a cocktail book in which
to write your own recipes, though the last time we checked,
it STILL didn't have Harvey Wallbanger in it. Very nice bar,
though.
If
you want the best, then go to either the Corner Bar at the
White Rocks Hotel, Lassi, or the Muses Bar in Lourdata. The
beautifully furnished and appointed Muses is run by Nadia,
who makes the best cocktails on the island. And she taught
Stelios at the Corner Bar everything he knows...
...
so either makes a great spot to watch the sun go down after
a long hot Kefalonian day.
